Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Heya,

I'm trying to do a solid intersection between two sets of Breps. I have only been able to do this by exploding each branch and matching it to the relevant Brep and then preforming a solid intersection and then re-merge all the data.

Example:

Set 1: A , B, C, D,....

Set 2:  A , B, C, D,....

I want to intersect A with A and B with B etc...

It seams like a simple problem I've just made complicated.

If anyone has any suggestion I would be greatful.

I think I need to use Path Mapper but unsure of how.

Thanks, Jonny

It looks indeed as if you have made it complicated ;-) can you post the gh definition? This would help to sort out the problem. Just by looking at your screenshot it's a bit difficult to see whats going on.

Thank you for the script...i see the problem...but please send me the script again with internalized data of your curves. I can't reproduce it exactly...it seems, that you built this script for a specific set of curves...i think the solution to the matching trees is then to find the most generic way.

Should be in there now! Cheers

Ok it became quite logic in the end. It takes really long for the boolean operation. I disabled it for now, cause it takes 17secs on my machine, so you don't have to waite on opening the script. Additionally i've added the result to a brep node (internalized) so you can see what's the output...i hope its what you wanted to achieve, because it didn't work at all in the beginning.

Florian, thank you very much. It worked really well!

Now to work on the wireframe!

Apologies for not replying sooner, I had my end of term project due!

Cheers, J

Hi Jonny,

you're welcome. I hope your end of term was successful.

Cheers
