algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I'm currently doing a thesis project that requires some form of scripting in order to get many iterations of models quickly.
The desire is to have scripts that organize any set of objects into certain tectonics, i.e. stacking, piling, packing, clustering, etc. I would like to be able to reference any object I create and somehow have the script organize these objects, based on their geometries into these tectonic systems. The multiple objects might all be the same or they might be all different.
I have very little knowledge/experience with grasshopper which is what concerns me given the scripting for this would, I assume, be quite advanced [if even possible].
I kind of just wanted to get an idea of how advanced this would be and if it's really a possibility to even consider. If anyone has comments they are greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The best tool is the one you have. Or in this case, know.
If you don't know GH and this is a thesis for graduation this spring, I would definitely look into other options.
If this is a long-term project, you could probably start learning GH now and come up with a serviceable script in a year.
A good exercise would be to see if you can write the pseudo-code (a rough outline of what the code does) for your desired result.
It would not be possible in any reasonable time to do what you describe (it's just a really broad area...) . There is also not enough information how would you like to achieve it. Please write your pseudocode down (as Nicholas suggested) so maybe somebody will point you in a good direction.
