algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi all,
Is anyone familiar with a way to perform selective graft within the manage data collection option of GH components? What I mean with selective graft? You can take a look at the attached image.
What I am asking is basically to integrate some of the path mapper logic into the data path assignment existing in GH internalizing data Components, so that, for example I could select a specific branch and graft it within the component without detaching it from the initial tree. Is something like this possible?
If not, do you think that it would be useful to add such a feature? I have actually needed it several times, it could save a considerable amount of time I believe. Some may argue that I could assign the grafted branches separately, but what if I am managing a huge number of data?
I would like to read your thoughts on this matter.
Best,
Marios

Thinking about it: the problem could be to make that option "parametric" to deal with changing tree topologies...
what do you mean by parametric Angel? I only need the index parameter..:) don't think complicated things..
Hi Marios,
I don´t know if I understand your problem exactly, but the definition attached is grafting a selected branch and maintains the structure.

Hi guys,
thanks for your replies. I am aware of many ways of doing this by adding extra components. One of them is displayed at the attached image, two more were just now been explored by you. My wish is to be able to preset the grafted branch within the "number" component. In this specific case to be able to use {0;0;0;3;0;i} inside the component, without doing "manually" later. Unfortunately you can only input int32 in the paths within the components.
