Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi to all!

I'm new to the subject, but i would like to visualize and export the principal stress lines of some types of shell, and in particular compression stresses.

What software is better?

I've read some discussions about it, and i was thinking about Oasys + Grasshopper or Karamba.

(for example

http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/principal-stress-trajecto...

and

Can i have some help?

Thank you.

The current KARAMBA Version Features some nice components to extract principal stress  lines as curves

Thank you for the fast reply. So it would be unuseful to export and import from Oasys or it could have some advantages?

Depends on what your final result should be. KARAMBA will give you stress lines right inside Grasshopper. But KARAMBA is still beta and somewhat limited. OASYS looks like a full grown system.

So if you absolutely need exact results, OASYS is probably better. KARAMBA stress lines look reasonable and can be good, but you should be able to verify the results.

Thanks!!
