algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I tryed to find deffinition here but i couldn't.

What i want to do is to put random points on surface.

First i tried with freeform cloud, but i dont want to have groups of points that stick to edge of surface. I found some deffinition here, but it not solve the problem..

I would like to get some deffinition with random points INsiDE surface,

or some witch have better deployed points.

Please ii hope you have some ides for this.

Or anything that can make better points on surface than freeform cloud.

Thanks!!

Hi Milan,

do you mean inside like "in" the volume enclosed by the surface or like "on" the thin skin of the surface?

Hi Milan,

Try with this.

It's a geometric solution to random points ON any surface.

Hmm.. i tried it but it wont work?? I put rhino file with two surfaces, you can try on them.

Giulio i meant on "ON" surface, but "inside edges"

I still have one doubt: how exactly would you define "better points on surface than freeform cloud"? What exactly are you trying to achieve?

Thanks,

Thanks everyone for responds!

I want to create points on surface for voronoi diagram.

But all definitions for points that i tryied create voronoi that is stretched.

I want to get points that will create voronoi less stretched and with "more regular form".

Here is photo of current (stretched) voronoi form:

Here are gh/ghx files so you can see,

Tnx!

Tnx, i tryied your way,

I stuck with offset lines on surface.

I want to offset lines so i will get surface for extrude.

This is how it should be looking at the end

The solution I gave will result in some unclosed curves, here is a way to get correct curves:

Now, offsetting may give odd results, but that's another problem.

(If you don't need exact offsets, scaling and reproject curves should work well enough)

I tryied this.

I want to offset lines of voronoi, and than to trim "holes" in rhino and offset solid. (see files)

I think there is problem with offset, i dont know if there is some other solution, because this make some parts with no offset.

See rhino file and gh

I read on some deffinitions, where points follow curvature (number of points) of surface or area of surface...but i couldnt find deffinitions.

I still succeeded with this definition. Tnx!

quick solution:

use evaluate surface with reparameterize option and domains between 0 to 1 like this:
