algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello!
I'm a Grasshopper novice so forgive my ignorance.
I'm trying to make a 2D pattern but have all of the geometries pointing to a single point. The way I'm going about this is creating the geometries, then using the Orient Tool to rotate them toward the point. When I do this it scales the geometries as well.
So my 2 questions are:
1. How do I stop the geometries from scaling?
2. Is there a better way of doing this?
Thanks!

You should unitize your vectors, Orient Direction takes sizes of vector into account.
You can also create the ellipses directly on right oriented planes: Plane(O,X,Y) with O =origin point=center, X= vector from center to attractor, Y=cross product(X,normal at O). In your case the surface is planar so the normal is just Unit Z.
I knew there would be a simple answer (and a different way to do it)! Thank you so much!
