Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi David,

Just curious but why does Grasshopper behave this way:

Ah the fickle finger of fate...

It's clearly a bug of some description. All circle-like curves should convert to circles when prompted to do so.

I haven't looked into it just yet, but my guess is the roundtrip via Nurbs curves somehow fixes a problem with the original curves.

The problem seems to be that the original curve is a PolyCurve. They don't know how to convert themselves to arcs evidently. This is -in my opinion- a bug in the Rhino SDK. I've fixed it in Grasshopper for the time being.

Thank you. The problem cropped up in the mcneel forums on discourse. Vb isCircle was giving one result whilst rhinoscript isCircle was giving another. Brian`s answers were tolerance related but it didn`t ring true to me when gh was behaving this way. It seemed to be more of wheel off than tolerance.
