algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello!

after creating a subdivided nurbs surface, I've managed to use an attactor to manipulate the control points of each subdivision. the problem I'm having is that the U and V values of the subdivisions cannot be manipulated without the geometry components failing. I created the whole deffinition with values at 10 and cannot move them. would anyone have an idea of what the cause might be?

I have attached the files...

cheers!

Use one set of UV sliders for all UV inputs.

thanks a lot chris! that works... however, it doesn't make sence. could there be a bug in GH that's causing this? the solution means that I cannot divide the subdivisions with a different ration that the one used to divide the main surface.

I'm not complaining by the way... ;)

Hi Diego,

I noticed that some of the circles themselves were 'cut off' by the surface (intersecting), that's when the trim failes. It might work better if you use the surface normal direction for the lines you create, because then the circles would be in a plane tangent to the surface at that position.
I didn't try this, I went with the surface/morph box setup. Hope this may also help.

thanks for your help! let's see i'm following you... you created a base geometry that you then used to populate the surface. regardless, this works perfectly.

as for using the normals to direct the lines, i tried this but the result was not very clean. since the surface has double curvatures that change direction constantly, sometimes the end points of the lines would itersect the adjacent planes and this created problems. if the surface had curvature with a constant direction, then it would work. my intention was to generate a solution that is adaptable to any surface...
