Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I'm looking to achieve in GH what the Rhino Curveboolean tool does :

select a bunch of curves (be they open or closed) , pick points to add regions together, and output a clean closed curve.

Sadly, RDiff, RInt and RUnion components only work with closed curves.

Examples of workarounds most welcome !

Cheers,

Here it is without password.

Still very slow because it uses the Surface Split logic, and looking complicated because it attempts to take all cases into account.

The solution to make it fast:

instead of surface split, create a graph with the curves and run this graph always turning left (or right) until you come back to starting point. Repeat for all middle points. Remove duplicates.

cool systemiq, you have a heart. ;)

but in which grasshopper and rhino version you have done this?

i get this message (rhino 4/gh 09.0014):

thanks.

Oops I forgot to internalize the cluster.

yes thanks, now it works.

I'll try to understand what you did there.

but maybe one question: the logic can also be applied here?

Yeah but don't try it with too many circles.

hi systemiq,

i have failed to make mention that your work seems very interesting!

By what means do you protect your cluster with a word ristration expire?

There's currently no time or usage based protection for clusters. Is this what you're asking for?
