algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi,
question about Karamba mesh. Is it possible use the command "Nearest Neighbors" to connect points of 2 or more mesh? I want to connect laths of a gridshell in their overlapping points and every lath is design with a mesh (in the image you can see what I mean). Is it possibile performe an analysis in this way, or I've to design each lath as a line and then create the model like a "beam model"?
Thank you
Matteo

Hi Matteo,
it should be possible but depends what you exactly want to achieve. Did you try it?
If you have sets of lines and want to connect them with elements of shortest distance the 'Element Felting'-component might be useful for you.
Best,
Clemens
Did you try the 'Element Felting'-component on a small example (there is one that comes with Karamba in the examples folder).
For a first try you could assume the beams of the grid to be rigidly connected at the nodes. As this is hard to achieve in reality (one would have to weld them on site) add hinges at the connection points or semi rigid connections (with springs) to see what effect this has.
Best,
Clemens
