algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi,
I am an architectural student from the UK.
I would like to know how to create a facade that moves with music. For example, different frequencies are picked up by microphones which through grasshopper relate to a value on the x axis which controls a servo.
eg. A bass drum creates a low frequency, the microphone sends data to grasshopper and this makes a servo move on a 1-10 slider. 10 = bass, 1 = no bass. This would be done live so it corresponds to the music.
Any help would be appreciated.

There plugins such as FireFly, that will help you use data from the Microphone. I'm not so sure about filtering/transforming the audio stream.
That said: Grasshopper is not meant for audio applications. The whole current architecture is not optimized towards realtime. It súre is posible, but don't expect too much...
Hi thanks for the reply. I have seen videos of it done in rhino in real time, but I would like to create a physical model. Any further help would be appreciated.

I am planning to use processing SoundSpectrum to analyse the music and seperate it into 3 frequency ranges and then use gHowl to transfer this data to grasshopper and alter the geometry in grasshopper.
If anyone has any ideas or can help please do!
Michael
