algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I'm trying to simulate the inflation of a soft actuator.

The soft actuator is made up from silicone with internal air canals. When trying to simulate this in kangaroo I've only been able to inflate the outer bounds of the mesh:

Does anyone have an idea how I can inflate the model from the internal air canals out and still recognizing the thickness of the actuator.

I don't understand which parts are supposed to be solid and which are air - could you sketch a section?

Thank you for the reply. Sorry for the confusion, the attached images display the basic process of the actuator:

Basically, the air canals are empty and everything around it is solid. But when I try and simulate it in kangaroo it only inflates the outer bounds of the mesh as displayed in the second link in my original post.
