Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

Does anyone know how I could draw curves on surface by connecting 2 end points?

I have big trouble in getting the UV points...

Thanks a lot for helping!

Check out the geodesic component. Should do the trick:

Hello mate,

I understand your approach by using geodesic.

Is it possible to start and end the curve exactly at the points marked in my model?

Cheers

You will need to supply your points in terms of the Srf's UV co-ordinates

Sure. You just need to add the points to two lists:

1) All the start points
2) All the end points

Be sure select the points in the correct order. Then plug the lists into their respective inputs on the geodesic component.

Here is the error I encountered...

What could be the possible cause?

Thanks a million for allllll!

PS. that is a reason i'm thinking to use "crv on surface" instead of "geodesic"..

but I think it can be solved..somehow..just that I am unclear..

Dannys idea is probably better depending on what you're doing. However, just to round this one off for future reference. It seems to work fine for me without the unwanted lines you seem to be getting (I deleted the other components by the way, but it worked fine with them as well):

Hello Mate,

Once again I must thank you for putting time to figure this out.

However, I'm still getting the same error after trying to draw it all over again with just 3 components.

Is it possible for you to upload the *.3dm and the gh script so I could test on my GH?

ps my version is the 0.8.0066 newest one.

pss The reason why i'm putting a shift list is because I want to twist the curves at the bottom pts to get diagrid pattern ..something lik this:

Thanks for your time!

Haven't figured out how to attach files so I just uploaded them here:

Edit: I'm also running 0.8.0066 on Rhino 5 64bit

Geodesic has some known bugs in Rhino4, that should no longer be there in Rhino5. Can you test on both versions?

Yup, I can confirm that this appears to be a Rhino 4 problem..

Hi All,

I confirmed that it is a bug in Rhino 4.

Do you think that running GH on Rhino 5 is generally a safer option?
