Hollow Shell? Is this possible with a single compoenent and not modelling all faces?

Hi All,

I am wondering whether there is a component I can use to create effectively and RHS section based on a single FLAT mesh?

In other FE software a plate mesh must be solid and so to model and RHS I would have to model all of the flanges/webs of the section as meshes and make them the correct flange/ web thickness. Using this method in GH would be far more arduous and slow down the analysis, furthermore, I am concerned about mesh connectivity and whether my analysis would suffer from stress concentrations due to the connectivity of the meshes (See below).

I want the vertical member to be an RHS (approximately 100mm deep) and the diagonal members to be solid plates of 10mm thick.

At one point I tried  connecting the RHS component to the mesh (usually meant for beam elements) and an error didn't come up but I couldn't be sure it was actually working. (would show an image but im not at work and so cant access Karamba)

Does anyone know if this is possible? or something similar?

Thanks

Ken
