algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hardware requirements for running rhino+grasshopper well

Hi! I intend to buy a PC for running Rhino + GH and would like to ask what is the best hardware configuration today.

There are previous discussions but I´m afraid the configurations mentioned in them may have expired, since they go back to 2013.

I´m looking forward to any help.

Thanks

Gabriela

Nothing really changed. For running GH1 the ideal setup involves fast cores. It doesn't matter that you have lots, faster is better. Fur future versions more cores will become the better option as more and more of the slow stuff is multi-threaded.

For graphics cards the advice is still to stick with a real graphics card (i.e. ATI or NVidia), don't go for on-board intel graphics.

Memory; the more the better.

Hard-drive; faster will make a difference, but note that solid-state harddrives still have a lower life expectancy than spinning discs. They are also a lot more expensive per MB.
