Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

This is a quick release to fix 3 serious issues in in the previous release earlier today.

You can download 0.8.0065 from the usual location.

○ Expressions would not work, this is fixed.
○ Tooltip layout was incorrect, this is fixed.
○ Fonts that do not support regular styling would crash in the previewer, this is fixed.

For a list of new features see the 0.8.0064 release page.

Hi William,

yes it seems Breps can no longer be serialized in Rhino4. I've passed the bug on to Steve, hopefully he knows what to do.

Hi David

Thank you. Hopefully it can be fixed from the rhinoe end soon.
For the time being I just have to recreate the geometry
Using the internalised curve data I guess

I can no longer see preview geometry in this release of GH. It seems to have stopped workign for me. Is this a common problem and is there a fix for this?

cheers

Steve

Any preview geometry? There is a bug that is causing preview geometry to be drawn at the same z-depth as Rhino geometry, meaning the grasshopper geometry is occluded if (and only if) there's a Rhino object in the same spot. I already fixed this, but you'll have to wait for the next release.

However if all previews are invisible, then it must be due to something else.

It appears to be only geometry that is output from a custom component I wrote. I haven't recompiled my components with a reference to the latest grasshopper/rhinocommon API so could this be the reason?

If something broke then yes, but it shouldn't have. Do let me know if that fixes it.

it seems to me that the Extremes component is just the min and max value components merged into one, but i am probably missing something... could anyone explain? thanks!

Somewhat, but extremes is a ZUI component, allowing you to add more inputs.

in this case the min and max are quite obsolete. why not just use Extremes if you need min or max? maybe they are more economical with the resources, since if you need the min, it only computes the min, not the max as well, but the difference is PROBABLY (don't really know) not noticeble...

i also think the smaller then + bigger then can be merged into one component

also similarity and equality could be merged (meaning it could only be similarity and have the default tolerance set to 0)

PS: LOVE the consecutive domain and entwine components

Thanks a lot for the new release!

PPS: when i saw that there is a new component named extremes, i thought it might be something like my 29th suggestion here:)

Sorry David for 1 more error to solve,

I have a lot of C# or VB scripted component that I have made as User object. When I try to get them out now, it throws an "User Object Fail to Deserialize"

Newly created VB User objects also experience that problem. Clusters are okay.

Cheers

Victor

I have the same problem, but I recognized that also clusters containing C# or VB components are effected.

I posted some screenshots with the errors in this discussion.
