Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello

I'm trying to generate some pattern over my 3D shape but stumbled on some task.

I want  to do something like "isotrim" and divide domain on a surface but on my closed geometry. It doesn't work. I need the grid on my object to continue with work but can't handle it. Seems to be small problem but impossible to go further :)

"flying objects" are all separate spheres (blue on upper picture) non connected to other sphere. I need to connect somehow them to print this object. Some of balls are not connected they "fly" separately I think it's necessary to connect them for printing. I was wondering if it's enough to connect all center points with line and make pipe on them and then boolean join. Maybe there is a way to make smooth connection as shown in green on picture ?

?

That's the best I can do.

Pipes and balls are not "welded" for some reason. You will have to bake them and weld manually in Rhino by using the "BooleanUnion" command.
