Thank you for your feedback,but this issue is not yet reported or happened in any workshop, so possible something went wron on your side during the installation.

do you have two grasshopper folder?

Ok sorry for the doubling of post.

Actually yes I have two Grasshopper folder, well actually three. In this:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Rhinoceros 4.0\Plug-ins\Grasshopper

there are all the standard gha files. And all the plugins are installed in:

C:\Users\"user name"\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries

then I just realized I have another folder:

C:\Program Files\Rhinoceros 5.0 Beta (64-bit)\Plug-ins\Grasshopper

where is installed Karamba otherwise GH for Rhino 5 is working from the other folders. Quite a mess... should I put all the Components only in one folder?

since the new release 09.0012 and higher David doesn't allow multiple GH folders.

since this week GH will be only support Rhino5 and the furhter releases will not work any longer with rhino4.

So also we will change in a new release our installation folder.

Please delete the rhino 5 GH folder in this version and copy all plugins in one folder. To refernce older GH versions with rhno 5 just drag and drop the grasshopper.rhp into the canvas of rhino 5.

No prob about the double posts but for the community it is easier to have one follow up.

Hello,

I had the same issue as Francesco. I'm running Windows Vista with Rhino 5 64bits, GH 0.9.0014, Ecotect Analysis 2011 and Geco 1.0.33.

The initial installation of Geco 1.0.33 by default gives me the same error Francesco posted. I tried Thomas solution copying geco.gha and gecolink.dll to "C:\Program Files\Rhinoceros 5.0 Beta (64-bit)\Plug-ins\Grasshopper\Components" and it didn't work.

Then I copied both files to "C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries" and it did work. Finally I tried a few combinations of copying those files to:

C:\Users\Jesus\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries

C:\Program Files (x86)\Rhinoceros 4.0\Plug-ins\Grasshopper

C:\Program Files\Rhinoceros 5.0 Beta (64-bit)\Plug-ins\Grasshopper\Components

and it seems the trick is to have both files in the first and second location.

BTW I'm new with Geco.

Hi All,

I have a question. Is there are possibility to change north direction in Geco, without rotate a whole model. I saw in Ecotest it is possible.

hey

how do i define thermal zones for thermal analysis and another question: how do i define the orientation of the vector normals of surfaces? they need to point outwards, right?

Hi Jonathan,

1: thermal zones are not included in our plugin, but you can customcode them with our lua component

Take a look at the scriptmanger of Ecotect and the needed commands.

2: yes the surface normal has to point outside

if have just downloaded the weather file for innsbruck from the site which ecotect loads but now i want to insert it into geco, but it is not the right file type (wea). where can i get that?

Hi Suna,

you have to convert the weatherfile inside ecotect...just drag and drop it into the weather tool (which is located in the flyout tool)
