Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello

I'm trying to send geometry from Grasshopper to VVVV. I found this plugin which should do the job : https://vvvv.org/contribution/vulture-exchange-plugin-for-grasshopp...

but I can't manage to make it work (I have absolutely no knowledge in VVVV). Does anyone have experience with that and could show me a simple definition on how to send and receive objects ?

Thank you in advance

Yes, Vulture is the latest effort to connect GH and vvvv, but no update since a year ago. I attended a workshop at Node15 regarding this and it should work, in fact I just tested it in latest vvvv version and it worked fine (see image)

Try the example file by opening the: Vulture (Grasshopper Receiver) help.v4p in vvvv and opening the vultureDefinitionExample.gh in GH, then start the timer. In vvvv load the test.vltr file that GH creates; in GH make sure the address and name are correctly point to test.vltr . You can then interact with the geometry in GH and it refreshes in vvvv. Another method would be to use gHowl.

OK. Thx for the infos. I tried and I got this error. It seems that Grasshopper cannot find the file. Do i have to create the file myself ? Is Grasshopper not suppose to create it ?

Have you put the VultureGH.gha component and it's dependent .dll files like the slimDX.dll etc. in the GH library? You need to do that first, and also right-click and unlock them  (Windows machine right-click on the files > properties and unlock) then restart GH, it should work.

You're right, I forgot the unblocking step. But now that I unblocked everything and restarted Rhino I still get an error message but different from before. What do you think could be the problem now ?

If you have unlock the dll files too, I'm not sure what else could be the problem. The clue is that now it's complaining about the SlimDX file. What is your OS/setup?
