algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello all,

I've run into some strange behavior and believe it's a bug. I'd like to know if any of you have run into this issue, and how you are dealing with it.

Basically, as you can see in the screen shot and attached gh definition, when dividing a curve at a prescribed length or distance and subsequently shattering said curve, the exact lengths of the sub-curves, are not exactly the length you prescribed (ahhhh!).

This leads to issues with comparators (namely larger/smaller than), that I can only resolve by rounding (which I'd prefer not to have to do).

In the case of this example, the referenced curve is straight line; therefore, both divide length and divide distance should be able to work interchangeably.

So what have you all done to deal with this issue? And what are the best practices for avoiding it and avoiding rounding? And why is this an issue in the first place?!
