algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello Giulio, I am trying to use catmull clark subdivision component in order to gain a more 'organic style' for my geometries. The problem is that I can't use it with a high face subdivision iteration number, because the result is a too dense mesh for a quick preview..But with a lower face iteration level the result is not exactly what I have expected. Is there a way to reach this kind of style in another manner? Hope it is clear, thank you.

Hi Bruno

Is the goal here a quick preview or the final smoothness?
Also, is there a region that you would want to subdivide more?
Can you upload a sample?

Thanks

Giulio

Ok, studying a book I found this example and I have tried to reproduce it. The last image is the goal. I thought it was obtained by a higher mesh faces iteration number..But I couldn't make it work..

I cannot see the original tessellation of the cube from the picture, but this should give an idea of the sizes. Then you can model the original with the correct proportions.

I hope this helps,

Giulio
