I'm guessing that you are supplying a BRep (polysurface) instead of individual surfaces.

The error message will be displayed in more on the context menu and should say something like:

Data Conversion Failed from BRep to Domain

The Component is expecting a domain but will convert Surfaces to Domians.

If you want to divide each surface then you can "explode" the BRep with [Deconstruct Brep]
