Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Is there an interrupt process, or break -

from time to time I am confronted with an enormously heavy computation, that takes Rhino a LONG time to computer.

In rhino, you can break commands by pressing the esc key. I tried that in Grasshopper- but its not working.

Are there any settings/preferences to allow for this?

Thanks.

Some operations allow this, but not all.  Maybe this kind of esc behavior is something David is working on?  There is something called a 'Data Dam' coming in 0.9x which sort of allows you to add some behavior to avoid this kind of thing...

Hi Monique,

Escape in Grasshopper only works in between component iterations. The next version will also test Escape state during data conversions, which can take a long time if there's lots of data. There's nothing you can do in the meantime. Sorry.

Hi David,

is there any update to this for mac grasshopper? I periodically miss a data tree toggle of one kind or another and get mired in an exponential calculation that I don't know how to stop and occasionally have to hard quit and lose some work.  Is there any way to stop the calculation once it has begun?
