Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello everybody,

i have to connect two scripts.

The first one divides a surface in small parts, splits up these surfaces (so i can control the size of them) and in the end extrudes them.

The second one measures the distance between some particular lines and the center point of the divided surfaces, in order to vary the z value and the domain of the small surfaces.

Maybe the problem is that when I use the area command to find the center of the surface, these points are not arranged in any order, so when gh extrudes the surfaces he doesn't know which surface has to be extruded. But i'm not sure about that because I don't know very well grasshopper.

However, here there is a screenshot and the gh file.

Thanks,

try.gh

Hi FabioN, I had a quick view, and made this try. Hope I understood your goal right, otherwise you can use it as a fresh start for your tryV2. Hope this helps you.

(Some things I noticed during my quick view: No need to create the Srf4Pt from the vertices of the surfaces you already got (F output of the Explode component). The ListItem's i input takes an integer, now it rounds the floating point values your feeding it. Sorting a list with 1 item does work. Maybe you meant to flatten this list.)

It works perfectly! thank you very much!

You're welcome. Did you understand my remarks, and my try_PSG? I think that's important.

Yes I saw the file, it is much more clear than mine.

But I have one last question: do you know why if I add two curves in the pull command, it doesn't seem to take into consideration the previous two lines? I've tried to change from longest list to cross reference, but it I can't get what I want.

Maybe I did something wrong.
