algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi guys , May i ask a question about computer set ?
I updated my laptop recently because I can't stand the slow speed when I use GH .
So now it's with 16GB memory and solid hard dish .
The other hardware are not bad as well .
But the tricky thing is :when it operates even a little bit complicated model ,
it's as stuck as before .
The CPU is not fully used ,the memory is also not fully used ,
I`m curious that is there any configuration I should set so it could be faster ?
Thank you for any help .

Grasshopper (like any program) will use as much memory as it needs. Adding more memory will not speed things up. That is only the case if the software needs more memory than you have RAM, in which case the harddrive will start acting as memory fallback and that is much slower.
Grasshopper 1.0 performs almost all computations on a single core. So adding more cores will not speed things up. For GH1 the best setup is a dual core with the highest possible clock-speed (one core for the OS and the other for just GH calculations). However it is much easier these days to buy an 8 or 16 core processor, and in fact I recommend doing that. Clock-speeds haven't been increasing for quite a while now and over time more and more software will be able to utilize multi-core hardware. This is certainly one of the major goals of Grasshopper2.
