Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

is there a way to have a mesh with 5 edges? I"m using some definitions that require a mesh but my designs have panels with 5 and 6 edges.. rather than rewriting the whole definitions, is there a way to allow more edges in a mesh?

Short: in rhino 5: no. There's some indications that faces with multiple faces will be available in Rhino 6.

There's the half edge structure plankton from daniel piker that might allow that, but access to it is still not too easy, and will probably require some scripting to get going.

Breps is probably the way to go.

hello

for n-gon meshes there is also turtle (with its limitations)

Turtle

this thread is about hexagon meshes

Both Plankton and Turtle manage n-gon meshes. How are you setting it up and what do you want from it?
