algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi every body,
I just discover this wonderful software and I already love it !
My first challenge is to make a 3d parametric surface :
I'll try to explain :
- It's a spiral equation based on polar coordinates (teta,R) .
- R is define with z value.
I fixed the domain for teta (0 to 720° for ie)
I fixed the domain for z (0 to 200 for ie)
X=R cos (teta)
Y=R sin (teta)
Z : 0 to 200 step of 1
So to resume, for each z, I have a spiral curve define on 2d (parallele to XY plane)
This spiral evolves from z=0 to z=200
My 3D surface join all the curve for each Z.
Unfortunatly, I obtain a 3d linear spirale ! I certainly forget parameters, have you any ideas ?
Thanks a lot.

You need Graft the z-input in Point tool(right click), but you can construct a spiral with one z coordinate and then Extrude(Surface tab) alond z vector...
Many thanks for your answer . It looks very nice but the polar radius is a function of z2 and z3 so the progression on z axis is not linear. That s why I try to generate a spiral at different elevation and make a surface linked on all these curve. I try to use matrix too.
