Metaball duplicate lines

Hey all,

I know this has been answered a couple of times before but I am having trouble getting it to work properly. 

Trying to use a seemingly simple definition which sorts points along a curve based on their x, y, or z position in order to create metaball curves with no duplicates. 

Here is a discussion (http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/metaball-question?xg_sour...) which occurred where someone performed this operation using lines, but I am trying to do it using curves and I can't seem to get the path mapper to operate correctly.

Attached are the definition and rhino file, as well as a screenshot.

As you can see, I can get the metaball curves to work, but there are 161 curves when there should only be 40 (based upon the number of divisions) indicating that there are several duplicates. 

SHORT VERSION: Trying to sort points prior to using a metaball component in order to not have duplicate lines. 

Any help is much appreciated.
