two surface same subdivision

Marry Christmas first!

I have a question, for the whole building, the cladding and the floor are two different surface, how can I use the same subdivision system to subdivide them?

I try to join these two surface together, but didn't succeed.

I mean try to let these two surface share the same nodes on the edges.
