algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I just wonder if one can unroll text tags the way surfaces/curves/points are unrolled. I had a go at tweaking the C# script from this definition
http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/unroll-surface-and-breps
but seems like the Unroll Class doesn't support non-geometry objects.
Any comment is much appreciated.

Hi Thu,
Not sure I could help you with your problem.
But baking the 3d text tags and exploding the resulting text, converts the text into curves.
I;ve tried that but when I unroll the textx (now curves) with the surface, lots of them just gone missing
Have you tried to convert the text to curves/surfaces with Giulio Piacentino's tools?
I havent used the tool but I did try to explode the text into curves but when I unroll them there are some parts that go missing
Try the attached...
Thanks for the definition. However, Im having trouble here because the labels are actually baked objects from a text tag component from GH. I might just being plain dumb here but text tags are not recognized as strings?
Native grasshopper doesn't let you reference baked/rhino native text objects. My Human plug-in (download here) will let you grab text objects and then get their text content and location.
Thank you so much. Im testing it out now. Will update you with the results as soon as I finish
Hello, it works really well. however, there is this one surface that wont be able to unroll. I tried to unroll it using rhino command Unroll srf and it works normally. however it wont work with your component. I can't think of any reason why, apart from the possibility that there's something strange with the unroller method of RhinoCommon.
One more question: seems like the position of the unroll surface is defined very randomly. is there anyway to control where the unroll surface will be?
Hey!
Is it possible to add a toggle for explode yes/no?
I used your component in a GH setup and in some cases explode would be very helpful...
I checked your components code and I'm sure its possible, but I have barely any C++ knowledge..
Would be great! Cool thing btw :)
