algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am currently trying to explode a 2pt box, that I have flattened, so that I can find all 4 points of the square, but when I plug in the explode component, I get the following error message: 'Error: Invalid cast: Brep/Brep"

Would someone be able to tell me what this means? I'm not sure what to do next. Many thanks in advance!

Hi Tash,

I think that's a bug. The Brep you have is clearly invalid, you've compressed a box into a flat plane, thus reducing the 4 sides to zero-area faces. But the error message should have been different. I'll have to dig a bit deeper to see where I'm making the wrong decision, but in the meantime I think you should try and solve this problem without resorting to squishing brep faces out of existence.

Are you sure you need [Box 2Pt] instead of [Rectangle 2Pt]?

Yes! That's exactly what I wanted, but for the life of me I couldn't remember the name. Excellent stuff - many thanks indeed.
