Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello Daniel,

I am looking to develop some things based on KangarooLib ...more like mixing a cocktail of forces, but within a script component.

Are there any basic examples that show how to go about this?

Thx,

Luis

Hi Luis,

I do now have a working version with some methods exposed, but making all of Kangaroo scriptable for things like adding and removing forces in running simulations, or writing custom forces is still an ongoing project.

As always, specific examples of how you might like to use such a library are always helpful in thinking about its development.

First, could you just clarify a few things...

I am assuming using KangarooLib would allow me to 'create new forces' only.  I would still need to use the Kangaroo component to simulate everything?  Is this correct, or could I do most of what Kangaroo does but within a script with the help of KangarooLib?

The goal is definitely the latter - so you would have access to methods like createParticleSystem, addForce, removeParticle and so on, and also a step or integrate function to advance the simulation through time. So you can write your own loops containing forces which alter their parameters or get added or removed according to whatever geometric relationships you choose.
