hinge folding cant control

I am creating hinges between triangles to simulate a folding origami type pattern

I have started folding one component made up of 6 connecting triangles, this was done by attaching hinges to the edges of the connecting triangles.

However when I run the script the hinges seem to be uncontrollable and the component eventually floats away/folds in on itself.

I also am not sure how to get one sent of hinges to bend in the opposite way to the other- I tried putting a minus angle in one set but it doesn't work.

I have tried altering the strength and angles of the hinge as well 

I'm not sure if I need some anchor points to stabalise this?
