Hi Terry,

You want to first evaluate each surface using surface evaluation component and calculate the difference between surface normal and world y-axis. If the difference is greater than some value (tolerance) than you highlight using custom preview component. FYI, example above does the opposite highlights surfaces with angles that  are perpendicular to world cplane. Hope this helps!
