Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I am trying to get an analysis of sightlines working. So I have one area (observer) and want to know how much of a second target area it can "see", including any obstables.

My approach is very simple :
-I devide the observer area into a point grid of sample points
-I devide the target area into a point grid and draw the lines connecting these points
- I check if the lines intersect the obstacle, if they do, I cull those lines from the sightlines coming from that point. Then I could calculate the number of "lost" sightlines from that point and have a %.

Trouble is I can't get the "cull of line intersects" logic to work - or another way would be counting the intersections, and obviously I know how many intersections I have, but only overall, not per sample point which I would need to calc any percentag ....

any help, or totally different approach?

thanks,

P

cool, that seems to work

- trying to do the % calculation per sample / observer point now

thanks,

P

oh sorry, just realized that you already did that ...

:)

Hi! I'm trying to do a similar thing but the files attached above don't work, could you re-upload the final one?
