Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

This is a shot in the dark, but I have taken portraits of the same person for over a year, and would like to do something similar to http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lnpmfhLYpB1qhlqhvo1_500.jpg in order to map the changes in facial features. The linked image has some photoshop work in it, but I am really interested in creating the 'web' of lines from the black and white areas of the face. I can/am familiar with how to create a circle pattern from an image, but don't know where to begin with creating this connected patterning. Any and all help is most welcomed.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, that portrait is beautiful. If you ever figure out how to do something like that, I would love to know as well. :)

I feel that it been made in processing, maybe a Sergio Albiac work, http://www.sergioalbiac.com/, besides this, what do you mean with map the changes?

Hi,

this could be working in your case, I didn't test it with larger amount of data though.. If you also manage to integrate alpha into the material, it would be way better.

Best,

M.

Again this is a simplified scenario, what would be best is to iteratively generate more points in areas of the specific brightness value mapped..
