algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I created an object in 3ds max and when i brought it into rhino it turned into a mesh. I wanted to subdivide the mesh into UV subdivision in grasshopper and i only know how to do it with polysurface. I used the meshtonurbs command but it created millions of polysurfaces in the shape of the mesh which doesn't help. Can grasshopper subdivide a mesh into UV subdivision? Any suggestions would help. ou can use Rhino or GH to solve a simple general case as in the following:
1- Create repeated parallel planes (distance depends on how accurate you need your NURBS surface to be) that intersect with your mesh object into one curve.
2- Join curves that belong to same cross section, and you can possibly smooth it using "CurveThroughPolyline" command.
3- Create a surface by lofting these curves.
The problem is that you might not be able to always find good clean parallel curves. You might need to divide your object into few sections and create one surface for each section. I hope this is helpful.

is there any chance that grasshopper to be more developped to solve meshe or gemoetry subdivions i mean morphing cannot be even applied to polysurfaces or meshes. it would be great to either move from a mesh / polysurface to a single surface and work on it as normal lofted or created surface or new components special for meshes and polysurfaces allowing them to be treated as a surface.
