noobie help please! :) facade skin

Hi guys, im new here!

Im trying to create a facade skin similar to the jelly fish house by IwamotoScott Architecture. My design is trying to replicate the intricate vein system of organic plant life like leaves, also applied to a very rigid geometric structure. However im very new to grasshopper and plodding around the tools isn't really getting me anywhere. 

can someone point me in the right direction, what kind of process should i be aiming for and can anyone suggest any tools that i can do some research on.
