Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I'm trying to get the last indexes of a three level deep path but I can't get the [String Trim] component to work. Can someone help me out with this component.

And a comment/suggestion I'd like to add. I've managed to get the indexes I want using a combination of components. At one point I wanted to use the [SubString] component but with a negative start like if it were the [Shift List] component, but it doesn't work that way. I think it would be nice if it would work like the shift list component.

Bellow is a pic of how I'm using the String Trim component.

Thanks again

Use the "decompose path" component rather than trying to trim strings.

Thanks Vicente, it works great. But how is the Trim String component used?

The substring component doesn't seem to wrap around negative values. You'll have to use the string length component and subtract from it. In your screenshot it looks like setting the slider to 0 and the n input to 1 will get the char you are looking for.

String Trim is basically just a wrapper around System.String.Trim.

I don't know how to read questions. :/

It's what being with grasshopper until the wee hours of the morning does to you the next day :D

I wasn't at home, I answered with the phone.

Unfortunately this http://youtu.be/uy1PIgjCqRM isn't available for my phone's OS.

Funny... I new of a similar app against drunk-driving, but this video seems like a meme.

Another app could be to used to block Grasshopper at late hours to keep people from getting addicted to it :)

Thanks David. It was actually in the description and tooltip of the component.
