Right now I am still working on making the inital curve editable. The question (Is it possible to inform the shape of a closed curve by the distance to another curve?) I was thinking of using a curve or something to influece the way the stacked curves would deform. (think wave)

a quick sketch. The curve could be any where. Using it as a driver to create a smooth wave in the stacked curves.
