algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello everyone,

If i have a grid of say 100 points and i want to randomly select 50 points such that maximum number of points are selected at one end of the grid and number of points reduces as it goes from one end to another

Attached picture may give my intention.

I know how to randomly select points, but i do not know how to apply such a rule to the selection.

Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers

Sort them from 'I want to keep this one the most' to 'I want to keep this one the least'. You can then select the nearest ones using a simple [Split List] component. If you want to add randomness, you can use a [Jitter] component to randomize the sorting order (see attached).

That is exactly the question I have right now. Is there anyone that knows how to do it?

The answer above doesn't satisfy?

David is it possible to have this definition with more than one point on the curve, or better, is it possible to have it in relation with the length of the arch?
