Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

Im very new to Grasshopper and could use some help!

Im trying to generate a space frame to an irregular surface. All of the definitions I have come across will only seem to generate a rectilinear space frame and seem to ignore that the surface I have input through the component is not a rectangle. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can better define the space frame Im looking for?

I have attached my surface and the space frame definition i was given below

Many Thanks!

You need to trim the spaceframe to the surface outline. For flat surfaces, you could RInt (region intersect) each subsurface with the outline. But that will raise the question of how to deal with results with more than 4 corners.

On a side note... think about scale, please. It is not sensible to model a spaceframe in sub-millimeter precision. usually meters will do with a 0.0001 tolerance to accomodate millimeters. Also you plane is about 1.6 by 2.2 kilometers large...
