algorithmic modeling for Rhino

As the headline says it would be nice to have a param for Rhino.DocObjects.TextObject. At the moment I can only reference via layer selection.

And is it possible to have an output for Text Tag 3d in order the text can be transformed or baked into specific layers?

Danke, Dedackel!

gerne :-)

Thanks Matt Gaydon

You could also reference them from the viewport using an ID/GUID parameter, this also works with lights and clipping planes and such. Of course, this requires scripting for doing anything further with the text GUID.

therefore horster is helping quit easy (instead of scripting)

Indeed. What I was suggesting is more relevant if one wants to directly manipulate objects in the RhinoDoc from within Grasshopper..

Yes, I guess for my case I was rather looking for something like the GUID method, Anders mentioned. Horster gives you a string and a point, so I was more up to the method of getting the rhObject as Andrew does it, just by optional selection rather than by layer.

Is there an easy script to just transform the GUID into Rhino.DocObjects.TextObject?

Just noticed ojects by selection also does the trick. Fair enough.

Thanks!
