algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Is it possible to convert mesh to surface again?

Hello !

I've modeled quick mesh figure in rhino. Now I want to pattern it using Weave definition, but I'm not sure how to use my egsisting deffinition for "mesh" instead "surface". That's why I think the easiest thing to do would be transformation mesh to surface.

Is that possible?

It all depends on the topology of your mesh vertices.  If they are in the correct order it should be no problem...just run a surface from points on them with the correct number of points in the U direction and it'll work fine.  If they aren't in order then it's extremely difficult.  How did you generate your mesh?

It was firstly surface made with extruded wall boxes and then converted to mesh. After that smoothed many times.

It would be helpful if you posted your weave definition and the mesh above...

Here You are.

The first file attached is the similiar thing I want to do.

Actually, I didn't know that there is a big difference between surface and mesh :/

not sure why you need nurbs. Mesh in this case is much smaller of a file. But anyway here is a way. You may want to make some coffee before connecting the last part if your intention is to have one joined brep.

I want the NURBS back from the mesh because don't know how tu use my (not mine actually) weave deffinition I attached. If, thats possible for mesh maybe thats not necessary to convert it to NURBS again

when i open your definition things are not connected / referenced. Maybe you are using some plug in I do not have.

No. It was just GH components without plugins. I don't know why it doesn't work on your computer

I send againt the deffinition and screen shot of it. I hope i't correct now.  I'll explain why I'm going to convert againg the mesh to surface. I've used the "kangaroo" on mesh to convert it (mesh relaxation). This converted geometry I'm going to use to further modivication. I know the "loom weaving" deffinition and want to use it for my new geometry. Also wanted to try with other deffinitions from tutorials but not sure if they're OK for "mesh". All of them vere made for surfaces.

Can You guys take a look at those deffinition ? I,ve stuck on this stage and can't do any move further.
