Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Typical grasshopper to fabrication workflow and hardware

I am learning grasshopper and the allied technologies and get amazed on a daily basis. :)

What I want to know is what are the typical workflows of which grasshopper is a part of ?

As I understand, Grasshopper does Parametric (Generative) modelling.

What happens after this design until we see an actual product or a building in reality ?

Are there any special CNCs  or minimum specifications required for the job?

Any 3D printers good enough for this work ?

Wouldn't it just be conventional processes after the design phase?

Constructing a rather twisty, curvy building is not conventional at all. So I figure, since the design is not always a free-form shape (like a sphere, cylinder or lines), the later processes will also need to tweaked or appropriated.

This is just a speculation, what happens different (if anything) ?

Without considering a specific design it would be hard to say exactly what might be involved but in general while the design itself might be unconventional the elements of the construction would probably all be producible by a simple application of already known methods.  Methods in concrete, steel, wood, glass, fabric, etc. are all highly evolved.
