Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I tried to search in forums an answer to this simple question, but no result...

I just want to use a timer component to increment by 1 (every timer tick) an other component input. Is it possible without scripting ?

I'm new to GH and really ask myself about timer usability, as streaming components (Read File for example) don't need it...

Thanks in advance for any help,

Olivier

I think this works:

The end panel will increment by one every time the timer updates. To reset the count to 0 just hit the "X" on the recorder.

You could also download Giulio Piacentino's "the engine" which has some nice features about starting and stopping, time intervals, etc...

Thanks for your help guys.

@ Andrew : yes it works and without scripting, but it's not a clever method in my opinion : the list in Mass Addition component will quickly become huge if you run that for a long time...

@ David : I had a look at Giulio Piacentino's scripts and he just creates a timer inside them. It's possible to have a same result using the Timer component and a far more simple script :

I search a more direct solution (without scripting, just using integrated components), but I don't know if it's possible...

The most simple way to use the counter from Kangaroo add-on.....

Hi Olivier,

you can also use my GENERATION counters if you want.

Thanks again, I finally made my own counter component.

@Antonio : the last video on your GENERATION page is nice :-)
