Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

EDITED

Hello,

this is my first attempt using Grasshopper for a small project, and I would greatly appreciate your help.

I am currently trying to recreate a "star inside a hexagon" tessellation, which will be used to laser cut a moucharabieh screen.

I have found how to connect my vertices to create a triangle cell pattern, which I would like to offset more according to their Y position.

I hope my present description is clearer now, I would like to apologize for not mastering every aspect of the Grasshopper vocabulary (and unfortunately English is not my mother tongue).

Thank you in advance for your help,

Genevieve

Something like this should have the grasshopper/rhino(if needed) file(s) attached. We have no idea how you are doing what you are doing, or actually what the question really is.

I'm not understanding "triangle cell pattern, which I would like to offset more according to their Y position."

Hello Chris,

Thank you for your answer.

I am trying to offset my triangles according to the position of their respective center on the Y Axis, that means the higher the triangle, the bigger the offset value.

Hi Genevieve,

Something like this I imagine but you can alter the math to create a different rate of transition.  Here I'm just taking a simple percentage of the Y value and assigning it to the offset distance.

Hello Chris,

well, this is exactly what I needed.

I am learning how to use Grasshopper during my free time and on my own, and I have some difficulties creating my own designs from the tutorials and examples around here.

Luckily we new users can find support here on this forum...

Thank you for your time, I'm looking forward to send this to production...

Cheers,

Genevieve
