algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hey guys i genarated a mesh with kangaroo (minimal surface)

is there a way to "clean up the mesh, so there are clean and eqaul faces like in the purple mesh? i want to rebuild the mesh, maybe in kangaroo? the vertices of the faces should have equal lenght.

do you have an idea how to fix this?

thank you so much!

and i want to avoid critical points like here:

With Rhinoceros 5, from the surface to try to generate a mesh with the command "_mesh to nubrs."
May be a division of the surface mesh sle help you generate most beautiful and sharp edges.

It's not generally possible to remove all the irregular vertices (the ones which do not have exactly 4 connected edges) on a mesh with handles like this (see Euler characteristic).

However, I think you could significantly reduce the number of irregular vertices.

It looks like the pre-relaxed mesh comes from a Catmull-Clark subdivision of a triangular mesh, which results in 3-valent vertices at the centres of the triangles. If you rebuild the initial coarse/non-subdivided mesh from all quads then this could be avoided. I think this would be much easier than trying to remesh the surface you have.

thank you for the replies!

im starting with a nurb, convert this to a mesh. then im doing Catmull-Clark subdivision, after this the relaxation.

im not clearly understanding your advice, sorry.

could you maybe explan or show what you mean?

Sorry for the translation, I use google translation.
The fact is that you generate a triangular mesh, why not stay with a mesh consisting of rectangular meshes that.
If you leave NURBS initially, it is easy to control the mesh with the command "_Nurbs to mesh." With grasshopper you could generate a mesh by using a face component "brep compomant" then "nurbs to mesh."

Hi Bea,

I think what Daniel meant is to built up a mesh with a better connectivity from start.

I attached a file which does that with your initial brep as an input.

As i saw your from Berlin i wanted to invite you to join the Gh Berlin group:

100000 dank!!!

hey

I have been looking for a solution for mesh generation and came across with yours.

It works quite well. thanks so much

Hi everyone.
I have this definition with this invalid mesh in output, and I don't know how to smooth the mesh.

Can you help me, please?!
thanks a lot
