How to change a flat hexagonal grid's density with an attractor ?

Hi guys,

Has someone ever managed to change the density of a hexagonal flat grid in GH based on an attractor ?

I have tried jellyfish but couldn't keep the outcome flat.

Many thanks,

Arthur

Hi Arthur,

The picture you posted is exactly what I'm trying to do for my study project - hex grid with repulsion force!

Could you please share the definition with me?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Mina,

this is an adaption of daniels nervsys!

maybe you have more success with it?

Hi RWNB

the definition still doesnt work with a hexgrid. Does Daniel know what the latest update disables the kangaroo component?

I WAS LOOKING FOR THAT LONG AGO, COULD NOT ACHIEVE, DEFINITIONS TOLOWER ROSE ACA, BUT DO NOT WORK, MY BATTERIES ARE ORANGES .... NOT UNDERSTAND HOW TO CONNECT

Hi,

I have the same problem with all of the definitions - Kangaroo component is missing.

Did you manage to solve the problem?

No success unfortunately, error : "1. Solution exception:Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
Parameter name: index" appears in the Kangaroo component.

Any idea? I have a feeling it has to do with older/newer versions of grasshopper.

Weronika

got a lot of idea in this dialogue, thank you!!

Hi guys,

I was just trying to replicate your definition for a triangular grid. However, I alsso have a hard time defining the anchor points of the grid. Can anyone offer any advice?

Moreover I get four error messages, including 'input parameter chunk is missing. archive is corrupt.' with initial file shared by Daniel.

Anyway, I attach my replication if anyone is interested in taking a look.

I managed to get the anchor boundary points by culling and convex hull commands. However now Kangaroo gives me a runtime error. Any ideas?

Hi Thanasis,

You were almost there, see comments below:

  • Always flatten the Force Objects Input.
  • The anchor points do not need to be a branched list.
  • Your anchor points need to be on the particles that are being simulated.
  • You need to define points as input to distprt the grid.

HTH,

Arthur

Can you please tell me, what the minimum and maximum component does?

I have no idea why we have to use them and is there another possibility to replace them maybe?

Thank you all.

Greetings,

Phil
