Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I'm relatively new to Grasshopper and have been messing around with shelf designs. I've made some cool stuff with what I know of the program but was wondering if it would be possible to use graph mappers to control the shape of the top corners by limiting how far out the boxes are distributed, as well as the z axis depth of the box extrusions relative to the center point. I haven't wrapped my head around graph mappers too terribly much and am kind-of thinking they might be a good way to go about this, unless someone has a better suggestion. Something like this.

Here is my definition.

Thanks!

Thanks a lot.

I get an error when I try to load up the GH file, but I just built the definition anyways. After putting a second set of bounds+remap components (switched to target input) after the subtraction one it works pretty much how I want it to, for this example anyway. When I try to apply it to my previous definition though it doesn't work out the same way. This at least gives me a starting point and a bit more understanding of how to work with these things.

Is there a way to adjust the parameters of the Graph Mapper components so that you don't have to remap to 0-1 before input and remap again back to your desired range after the output? It seems kind-of restrictive only working in the 0-1 range.

You can change the domain inside the graphmapper. double click left mouse.
